THERAPY
In recent years the Delrow community has considerably increased the range of
therapies available to its residents. Because the resident population includes
people who are here mainly through problems with mental and emotional health
rather than disability we see this as an important part of our life and work.
We aim to help all residents by providing both the security and the opportunity
they require to move towards good health and a fuller life.
We work together with our local surgery and consultants and other health professionals and facilities in the area. Our GP holds surgeries at Delrow for our residents on a regular basis. In addition an anthroposophical doctor visits regularly to supervise complementary therapies. These are provided by qualified therapists, some of whom live in the community while others are employed.
A therapy program might include:
- eurythmy
- counselling
- art therapy
- rhythmic massage
- drama therapy
- speech therapy
- homoeopathy
These are provided singly or in combination where appropriate. Together with the therapeutic effect of participation in our community life they can substantially improve the well-being and functional abilities of residents.
